1500862 Sterilizing packaging material ZIRISTOR AB 29 March 1976 [7 April 1975] 12475/76 Heading A5G [Also in Division B8] The inner surface of a tube of packaging material is sterilized by a sterilizing agent which is applied to the surface and subsequently entrained as a vapour and removed from the tube by a stream of sterile gas introduced into the tube, the gas-vapour mixture from the tube is conducted to separating means whereby vapour is separated from the gas and the separated gas is then re-sterilized and returned to the stream being introduced into the tube for removal of further sterilizing agent. The gas stream for removing the sterilizing agent from the tube may be sterilized by heating and may be sterile air. The sterilizing agent in the tube may be vapourized by heating. The tube may be formed from a web by folding together and bonding together opposite longitudinal edges, and the sterilizing agent is applied to the web surface before the web is thus formed into a tube. Sterilization of the web surface is preferably effected by a sterilizing agent from a reservoir applied to the web by roller means. Material being packaged in the tube may be supplied to the sealed lower end of the tube by a supply pipe projecting into the tube, and means for vapourizing the sterilizing agent in the tube and means for introducing an upward-flowing stream of sterile gas into the tube are located above the outlet end of the supply pipe. Apparatus for use in sterilizing the inner surface of a tube 3 of packaging material 1 by applying a sterilizing agent to the surface and subsequently removing the gent, as a vapour, from the tube by a stream of sterile gas 9 introduced into the tube, the apparatus comprising means for receiving the gas-vapour mixture from the tube. means 21 adapted to separate the vapour from the gas in the mixture, means for re-sterilizing the separated gas, and returning it to the stream which is introduced into the tube.

The invention relates to equipment for aseptic product packaging.
A device for aseptic packaging of a product is known, containing j rollers for feeding tape packaging material, a sleeve former, a pipe for feeding the product, a pipe for feeding sterile air, a rotary compressor, a separator for cleaning air from liquid and a cap system for collecting mixed with a sterilizing agent air to.
In this device, the sterilizing agent is mixed after being used in the form of steam with a stream of sterile air introduced into the tube and discharged through the upper 20 open end of the packaging material of the tube, partially into the room, and therefore requires additional installation of exhaust equipment above the device. 25
The aim of the invention is to improve the sealing of the device.
This is achieved by the fact that in a device for aseptic product packaging the cap system is connected via a pipe to the inlet of a rotary compressor, the outlet of which is connected to a pipe for supplying sterile air through a separator.
The drawing schematically shows a device for aseptic packaging of the product, a general view.
